This Inner city commercial building required waterproofing repair/upgrade to the rooftop slab perimeter. Access was challenging with the service lift terminating one level below the rooftop. This required all plant and materials to be manhandled up two flights of stairs and through the rooftop plant room.
The scope was to remove a 300mm strip of existing concrete topping all around the rooftop perimeter along with all existing aluminium and galvabond cappings to the perimeter hob. The team then bandaged onto the existing membrane with a section of new torch-on membrane and terminated this up and over the perimeter hob, before replacing the galvabond seal with new and reinstating the original aluminium cappings. The perimeter trench is then reinstated with new concrete that is mixed on site and placed by hand.
